The survey found that the chances of children being served two fruits and three vegetables also increase in each of family eating. The chances of fruits and vegetables being served decrease if the TV was on during the dinned. Lynn S. Edmunds, a registered dietitian with the New York State Department of Health advised parents to turn off the TV during the mealtimes. It was also found during the survey that Hispanic and black parents are more often having the TV on during the meals as compared to the white parents. Less educated parents were also found to have the TV on during the meals. The health benefits are high if we include fruits and vegetables in out diet. If we take diet full of fruits and vegetables we have lesser chanced of blood vessel disease, cancer and heart related problems. It was also noted that the children who eat lot of fruits and vegetables in their childhood, also continue with the healthy eating pattern in their adulthood as well.
